Industry 4.0
Ready

Thyristor fast compensation batteries are designed for power factor correction in three-phase networks with fast and large load level variations (from a few milliseconds to a few seconds).

The steps are controlled by thyristors, thus allowing an immediate response to load fluctuations.

For networks with high harmonic pollution or a high risk of resonance, these batteries are equipped with anti-harmonic chokes (SAH) tuned to an intermediate frequency chosen according to the ranks of harmonics present in the network.

As with contactor batteries, the compensation is three-phase. However, for installations with a significant imbalance of currents between phases (single-phase loads), phase-to-phase compensation batteries can be proposed. The compensation with this type of batteries allows to reduce the level of imbalance in the network.

Notre gamme :

  • Power : from 25 kVAR to 1000kVAR
  • Voltages: 230V, 400V, 440V
  • Standard or with SAH (Self anti-harmonics)
  • Three-phase or individual compensation per phase (phase-phase)
  • SAH tuning frequency: 135Hz, 170Hz, 189Hz, 215Hz (other on request)
  • Fast varmetric relay with three-phase current and voltage measurement
  • Industry 4.0 ready: Possibility of supervision and integration in an energy management system, SCADA system or BMS

The capacitors used in our compensation batteries are carefully selected and have very high performances:

  • High operating voltage: up to 480V permanent (for 400V network)
  • Supports overcurrents up to: 2.5 In
  • Very high inrush current: Inrush current > 400 In
  • No fire risk: filled with inert material (resin or inert gas)
  • No risk of explosion: no oil, internal mechanical and electrical fuses
  • Operation under high temperatures: up to +65°C
  • Operation in harsh environments: Heavy-Duty
  • Very high service life: 150,000 to 300,000 hours

Applications

Fast Thyristor batteries are particularly suitable for applications with single-phase loads (lighting, resistance welding, IT, etc.), installations where a fast compensation response of tens of milliseconds to a few seconds is required (e.g. welding units, lifting applications, elevators, etc.) or installations with equipment sensitive to transient switching surges from contactor batteries (pharmaceutical laboratories, office buildings, etc.).

  • Industries: Automotive, glass production, cutting presses, slab presses, air compressors, etc.
  • Ports: gantry cranes, motor drives.
  • Pharmaceutical laboratories
  • Tertiary buildings, universities, administrations, shopping centers, etc.
  • Environments with high harmonic pollution (type SAH),
